This article will help ensure that you have the documentation you need in order to travel.
As you will be traveling internationally, you do need a valid passport. It is recommended for your passport to be valid for at least 3-6 months past your travel dates as a precaution.
U.S. citizens do not need a passport to travel to the following U.S. territories:
- Puerto Rico
- U.S. Virgin Islands (St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Croix)
- Guam
- Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan, Tinian, and Rota)
- American Samoa
For these territories, U.S. citizens only need a government-issued ID, such as a driver’s license, to travel. However, it's always good to check for any specific entry requirements, especially during times of heightened security or health regulations.
If you already have a passport, be sure to check the expiration date.
If you don't have a passport yet or if you need to renew your passport, we suggest applying as soon as possible after making your reservation. As a precaution, it is advised to apply a minimum of 6 months or more in advance of your trip as passport processing time can take up to 8-11 weeks on average.
* Please note that not having a valid passport & other related passport issues are not a valid reason for a refund from Destify nor with most flights and insurance providers. Please make sure all necessary steps have been taken and that your passport is valid before international travel.
Passport cards and driver's license are typically not valid for international air travel.
