Planning the details of your wedding is so much fun, and we understand that you are excited to get started! Below, we will outline what to expect at various stages of the process. You can also click here to review your Path To I Do.

The destinations with whom we work operate on a slightly different schedule from what we are used to here in the U.S. You will find that the Caribbean culture is characterized by a more relaxed pace of life. Plus, the resorts hold numerous weddings throughout each year, and they often address them in chronological order.

Each resort has its own unique process, but, on average, your wedding coordinator will be assigned approximately 4-6 months prior to the event, with most of the planning taking place 2-3 months prior to the event.

Here is a sample timeline to help with the planning process:

6 months - 1 Year+ Out

  • Main Focus: Guest Bookings
  • Finalize venues and times with the resort's wedding team
  • Share your wedding website with guests so that they can RSVP and book their travel package as soon as possible

4-6 Months Out

  • Main Focus: Wrap Up Guest Bookings and Prepare for Wedding Planning
  • Finalize your guest list and room requirements
  • Start thinking about your wedding vision (color scheme, theme, etc.), as your coordinator will ask for this in the coming months

2-3 Months Out

  • Main Focus: Finalize Wedding Selections and Details
  • If you have one, send your vision board to your on-site wedding planner
  • Confirm any pre-wedding events (welcome party, rehearsal dinner, day-after brunch, etc.)
  • Select flowers, décor, and lighting
  • Choose your cake flavor and design, along with menu options for all events
  • Make your ceremony playlist (or book a live musician), fill in the music list for the DJ (if applicable)
  • Ensure all services are coordinated for an officiant, photographer/videographer, and hair/makeup
  • For legal ceremonies, be sure to send completed paperwork to your wedding coordinator

30 Days Out

  • Main Focus: Wrap Up Wedding Planning and Prepare for Travel
  • Review reservations and your guest list, making any final adjustments as needed

The resort's wedding team typically works with you directly regarding the wedding planning, but we are always happy to jump in, provide support where needed, and/or liaise with them on your behalf if you like!

Remember Your GLS is alwasy here to help anyway they can, but your GLS main focus is helping with travel, and booking needs. Your wedding coordinator handles the wedding and any changes pretaining to it.
